Transparency Collage.. updated iteration

Line drawing, section cut through the 3D Transparency collage, that is not yet pictured.  Each layer of 'transparency' the glass pane or the plexi-glass has different qualities to it, allowing a certain amount of transparency and light to be transmitted through it.  The ones with not so much transparency has been drawn with a more solid line, while the ones with complete transparency are barely to be seen.  An actual light source was created for this collage to see how much light could be transmitted through the layers of transparency.  Four different locations, which will be shown through images that I'll later be able to describe.
While exploring the idea of transparency other words come to mind... light and shadow, threshold, blur, transitional space, and a skin
The collage section of transparency.  The layers that are suppose to represent the most transparency show up having the most black shone through, which is relevant to how transparency is suppose to reveal what is beyond.  The lightest areas are really the darkest with the least transparency.  So I think it's interesting that through the use of materials, trace paper, vellum, saran wrap and the black mat board, the idea of transparency is revealed, but in a kind of contradictory way.  I imagine when someone looks at this they'd assume that the 'whitest' area would reveal the brightest or most transparency, but its quite the opposite.
